Posting Summary

The Division of Education in the Department of Medicine at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School seeks an exemplary educator with clinical expertise to join our internal medicine residency leadership team as an Associate Program Director (APD). The APD role involves significant engagement with resident teaching and supervision in clinical settings. Responsibilities include:

  1. Serving as the attending of record for hospitalized internal medicine patients on resident teams.
  2. Overseeing the Elective Program for the residency in collaboration with site directors.
  3. Delivering longitudinal board review sessions on selected topics.
  4. Participating in residency activities such as service on committees, curriculum development, recruitment, conferences, retreats, mentoring, and coaching.

The residency program includes 71 categorical residents and three chief residents in a 4+1 model, rotating across two hospitals and three clinics. The program is known for high performance metrics, including recruitment, fellowship placement, and board pass rates.

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at New Brunswick is part of RWJBarnabas Health, the largest health system in NJ, offering growth opportunities for the residency program.
