We are seeking a Director of Pediatric Dentistry to lead and advance our Pediatric Dentistry program in the Celeste Myers Dental Clinic. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of pediatric dental care by overseeing clinical operations, driving strategic initiatives, and fostering innovation in education and research. The Director will play a pivotal role in developing interdisciplinary collaborations and enhancing patient outcomes through excellence in leadership, patient care, and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities

    • Leadership & Program Development:Lead the Pediatric Dentistry team in delivering exceptional dental care, expanding services, and ensuring a high standard of excellence.
    • Clinical & Administrative Management:Oversee full-spectrum pediatric dental services, including preventive care, interceptive orthodontics, dento-facial trauma management, and restorative dentistry.
    • Practice & Financial Management:Drive the efficiency and financial sustainability while ensuring high-quality patient care.
    • Strategic Planning & Growth:Develop and implement innovative strategies for expanding pediatric dental services and integrating interdisciplinary care models.
    • Quality, Safety, Risk Management & Process Improvement:Ensure compliance with best practices, patient safety protocols, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
    • Education & Research:Serve as a mentor and educator for dental trainees, residents, and staff while contributing to academic initiatives, hospital committees, and groundbreaking research through theRebecca D. Considine Research Institute.
    • Collaboration & Relationship Management:Build and maintain strong partnerships with hospital leadership, interdisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders to elevate the profile and impact of pediatric dentistry at Akron Children’s Hospital.

Position Requirements

    • D.M.D. or D.D.S.from anADA-accredited U.S. dental school.
    • Board certificationby theAmerican Board of Pediatric Dentistry.
