Position Summary

Responsible for all aspects of Strategic Marketing and Business Development for a Division or Sales Company.

Scope/ Supervision and Interaction:

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Strategic Marketing: responsible for the development and implementation of market plan (includes market coverage)
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of market tools to improve promotional plans and market segments
  • Collaborates with field sales/sales companies on marketing tools and analysis; BD Process (Win Map, Winovation and Win Value Idea manager; establishes timeline and goals for achieving the target
  • Identifies new product development projects
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of a strategy to grow key market segments
  • Creates growth plans for key regions and markets; Develops global customer partnerships
  • Directs and recommends acquisitions and strategic investments for growth
  • Marketing Communications: responsible for the creation and distribution of high quality marketing and sales promotion material to support Division products in Europe
  • Responsible for developing and implementing a communications strategy that is consistent with the Division’s business plans and the overall Group and Corporate goals.
  • Customer Service: Responsible for leading or providing support for aspects of customer service including post-order customer service, technical support, inside sales, service & repair, and technical training
  • Strategic Pricing & Quote Cell: responsible for collecting, analyzing and evaluating data on products, costs and markets to support development and presentation of appropriate price and bid strategy.
  • Responsible for the sales company or division quote cell
  • Monitors and optimizes pricing strategy through process control and variance analysis
  • Applications Engineering: responsible for leading an application engineering sales team
  • Interface with customers, addresses specific customer needs; co-creates product or designs product modifications to meet customer needs

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Ideal candidate has 12 or more years of experience in Marketing, Business Development, Sales, or Product Management, with at least 6 or more years of experience in a leadership role
  • Previous work experience ideally includes experience in Marketing, Business Development, or Sales
  • 4-year university degree (or international equivalent) required; Ideal candidate has studied Business or Economics, or related areas of study
  • Ideal candidate is working towards or has completed a Master's degree (or international equivalent) in Business or Economics, or related areas of study preferred
  • Experience in the life science industry is preferred

Skills & Competencies

  • Possess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper opportunities
  • Must have functional understanding of cost accounting and adopt to practical application
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all internal and external contacts
  • Must be an innovator and embrace lean enterprises principles and practices
