Job description

The Ruhlin Company seeks to hire a Division Manager for its Industrial Division. This position will be based out of Ruhlin's Sharon Center office.

Summary:

Accountable for driving business growth, financial performance, client satisfaction, and workforce development while ensuring projects are executed safely and in alignment with company objectives.

Responsibilities
Client & Stakeholder Leadership
  • Establish and maintain executive-level relationships with clients, industry partners, and other key stakeholders.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in contract negotiations and issue resolution.
  • Promote positive relationships with local communities and industry organizations.
  • Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded through proactive engagement and responsiveness.
Compliance Leadership
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, permitting requirements, environmental standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with regulatory agencies and public stakeholders.
Financial Management & Profitability
  • Drive financial performance by managing costs, forecasting accuracy, and maximizing profitability.
  • Produce and analyze financial reports, operational metrics, and project performance data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Lead initiatives to improve margins and increase divisional efficiency.
  • Provide oversight of claims management and contract administration.
  • Lead project management to achieve financial objectives and strengthen project outcomes.
  • Conduct annual business planning, revenue forecasting, and budgeting.
Project Oversight
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance project delivery, operational efficiency, safety performance, and overall divisional effectiveness.
  • Provide oversight for project execution and continuous improvement ensuring alignment with company standards for safety, quality, schedule, and financial performance.
  • Monitor project performance indicators and implement strategic corrective actions to improve efficiency and outcomes.
  • Ensure lessons learned and best practices are shared throughout the division.
Safety & Risk Management
  • Champion a divisional culture of safety excellence.
  • Hold project leadership accountable for compliance with company safety standards and all applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with the Safety Department to establish and implement proactive safety initiatives, training programs, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Monitor divisional safety performance metrics and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented when necessary.
  • Lead risk identification and mitigation efforts to protect employees, clients, and the company.
Strategic Initiatives & Business Growth
  • Develop and execute strategies that support company growth, profitability, market expansion, and long-term business objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue new project opportunities to strengthen market position and revenue.
  • Lead business development initiatives, including client engagement and strategic planning.
  • Provide leadership in proposal development, presentations, negotiations, and contract acquisitions.
  • Monitor industry trends and market conditions to proactively position the division for future growth.
  • Establish and implement short and long-range goals within the framework of the corporate strategy.
  • Develop and continually improve the effectiveness of the division procedures.
  • Identify and implement new business methodologies and techniques.
  • Provide recommendations to the President & CEO regarding major capital investments, equipment, and resource allocation to support divisional growth and objectives.
Workforce Planning
  • Partner with the Operations Division and Human Resources Department to ensure the division maintains the staff necessary to achieve business objectives.
  • Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing leaders and project teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives.
  • Promote employee engagement and alignment with company values, culture, and strategic goals.
Essential Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 15 years of progressive construction leadership experience.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to align divisional execution with strategic objectives.
  • Advanced understanding of project financial management, forecasting, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Strong knowledge of CPM scheduling, construction operations and contract administration.
  • Exceptional leadership, team building, and talent development capabilities, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders, build strategic partnerships, and drive performance.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft 365 and other construction-related software.
  • Team focused mindset with the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Commitment to company values.
