Job summary

Penn State is seeking a Division Head for the Strategic Systems Operations Division in the ARL to guide its emergence into the national security landscape. The role manages research engineers, scientists, technicians, and staff, reporting to the Information Advantage Office leadership.

Applicants must hold a Master’s in engineering or science and have at least 10 years of related experience, with an Active TS/SCI clearance.

Qualifications

• Master's or higher in engineering or science with advanced specialty.
• Proven leadership of large technical teams and programs.
• Ability to secure external funding and manage complex budgets.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for the Strategic Systems Division.
• Build and lead high performing cross-disciplinary teams.
• Lead interdisciplinary R&D programs from concept to delivery with rigorous communication.
• Manage division operations: planning, budgeting, staffing, facilities, risk mitigation.
• Develop sponsors and industry relationships to grow opportunities for ARL.
• Represent the division to sponsors and university leadership at executive level.
• Lead, manage and improve professional development and onboarding.
