Job summary

Grain Processing Corporation invites applications for a Division Engineer Intern to provide technical and engineering support to the Operations division. This role is designed to be performed in Washington, IN and offers hands-on experience in process improvements.

Responsibilities include initiating process and equipment modifications, managing capital project work, developing training materials, and collaborating with the Division Superintendent on new installations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a corn wet milling or similar industrial process is desired.
• Internship or co-op experience in an operations or manufacturing environment strongly desired.
• Strong verbal and technical writing skills.
• Advanced skill level in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications is strongly desired.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

• Initiate process and equipment modifications for safety, energy, and profitability.
• Manage capital and expense projects from concept to production.
• Develop maintenance and operator training documents and qualify equipment.
• Collaborate with Division Superintendent on changes with other departments.
• Handle purchasing, installation, and startup of capital projects.
• Monitor downtime and recommend improvements.
• Calculate material balances when processes change.
• Oversee project scope from design to closure and documentation.
• Develop project plans, timelines, and cost estimates for improvements.
• Troubleshoot with operations to resolve process issues.
• Ensure regular and timely attendance.
