McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston , a leading academic health center situated at the Texas Medical Center, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) position as Division Director of Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care in the Department of Internal Medicine.

UTHealth Houston has inpatient and outpatient services at Memorial Herman Hospital - Texas Medical Center and TIRR Memorial Hermann . The division currently has 3 clinical providers: 1 MD and 2 NPs designated with support from others with active privileges. The division teaches at all levels of the medical school. This is a highly interactive environment with tremendous growth potential.

Position Key Accountabilities:

The selected candidate will contribute to the Internal Medicine Department's mission to educate health science professionals, discover and translate advances in the biomedical and social sciences, and model the best practices in clinical care and public health through state high-level responsibilities: research, teaching, clinical service, administrative activities, and other services. The selected candidate will possess a strong clinical background in hyperbaric medicine and wound care, demonstrated leadership skills, and commitment to excellence in patient care and academic advancement.

Qualifications:

  • Associate Professor appointment for at least two years.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or equivalent
  • Texas Medical License or be eligible for a Texas Faculty Temporary License.
  • American Board of Internal Medicine or American Board of Family Medicine certification or eligibility statement.
  • Board certification in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine is preferred.
