• Serving as a Division Director in Financial Operations, providing technical accounting guidance and financial management leadership to CBP's accounting and financial operations.
• Interpreting and applying laws, regulations, and accounting guidance and ensures compliance with GAAP.
• Implementing guidance from FASAB, Treasury's Bureau of the Fiscal Service, OMB, and GAO.
• Ensuring compliance with DHS OCFO requirements for the AFR and supporting the DHS Financial Statement Audit.
• Liaising with external auditors, explaining CBP's account balances and the flow of financial data in CBP's financial system.
