Division Director (Associate Professor/Professor), Infectious Diseases - Pediatrics, McGovern Medical School

Join to apply for the Division Director (Associate Professor/Professor), Infectious Diseases - Pediatrics, McGovern Medical School role at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth Houston).

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Department of Pediatrics, is seeking an outstanding physician-scientist leader to serve as chief of its Pediatric Infectious Diseases division. The chief will provide vision and lead ongoing growth within this expanding medical school.

The Division has a 50-year history of excellence in academic pediatrics, with success in research and clinical care. It supports diverse research programs and provides inpatient and outpatient services at Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, a 240-bed facility with specialized units and a high volume of patient visits annually.

UTHealth Pediatric Infectious Diseases offers a resource-rich environment including:

  • General infectious diseases
  • HIV care
  • Antimicrobial stewardship
  • Infection control and hospital epidemiology
  • Clinical research
  • Transplant and immunocompromised host services
  • Perinatal infection research

The division hosts multiple faculty members and has an ACGME-accredited fellowship program. Clinicians serve multiple hospitals and clinics within the system.

Qualifications:

  • Texas Medical License or eligibility

Candidates should demonstrate clinical excellence, leadership, scholarly productivity, and a commitment to academic pediatrics. Board certification and eligibility for Texas licensure are required.
