Job description

Division Controller - Private Equity – Base/Bonus/Significant Equity

We are currently partnering with a leading construction services company to identify an experienced Division Controller for a national, private equity-backed business.

Key Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will report directly to the Corporate Controller and serve as the primary accounting lead for one of the company’s core business segments. Responsibilities include managing the monthly close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining cost discipline at the project level. The role requires expertise in accounting operations, cost accounting, and ERP systems, along with cross-functional collaboration with finance and operational teams. A hands-on approach, process improvement mindset, and the ability to enhance financial accuracy and visibility in a multi-entity environment are essential.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience, including 3–5 years in public accounting (CPA preferred)
  • Background in construction, residential services, or similar job-cost environments preferred
  • Experience managing and streamlining the full close process and owning a P&L
  • Ability to manage multiple entities and consolidate financial results
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting, margin analysis, and operational P&L ownership
  • Experience with NetSuite is preferred; ERP optimization or implementation experience is a plus
