Job description

The Division of Vascular Surgery at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine seeks a full-time tenure track Surgeon-Scientist/Investigator at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor. This individual will serve as the Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and play a key leadership role in the expansion of clinical programs and research within the division and health system. This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving team of clinicians, educators, and researchers. Northwestern Medicine is one of the premier academic medical systems in the nation. Furthermore, the Vascular Surgery service line is a part of the world renowned Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute.

The ideal candidate will have established academic interests and a proven track record in securing extramural funding to support these academic endeavors, which may be in the basic, translational, clinical trial, or health services outcomes research. Depending upon the qualifications, the academic mission of the successful candidate will be supported by a generous recruitment package and an Endowed Professorship.

Primary responsibilities can include the full breadth of vascular surgery services. Successful applicants will also be expected to develop and maintain an extramurally funded research program (basic, translational, clinical trial, or health services outcomes), and contribute to the education of Medical Students and Vascular Surgery residents and fellows.

Qualified candidates must have completed an ACGME-accredited vascular surgery fellowship/residency program, and are board-eligible or board certified in vascular surgery.

The start date is negotiable and the position will remain open until filled.

The expected base pay range for this position is $476,966.00-$786,838.00.

Northwestern University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for the position. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate including years since terminal degree, training, and field or discipline; departmental budget availability; internal comparators; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
