Job summary

UW-Parkside in Kenosha, Wisconsin is seeking an Accountant II (Division Accountant) to support campus departments with financial management, account reconciliation, and GAAP compliance. This role emphasizes accuracy, controls, and collaboration across units.

You will prepare complex financial statements, monitor journals and ledgers in the ERP system, and provide guidance to managers and staff while helping to forecast budgets and ensure data integrity.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in accounting or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional accounting experience (1–3 years with a bachelor’s degree).
• Experience using ERP/automated financial systems (Workday, Oracle, SAP).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, lookups, and pivot tables.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates trainings and provides financial guidance to management and staff.
• Leads development, organization, preparation, and updating of complex financial statements, journals, accounts, ledgers, and reports.
• Prepares and analyzes financial reports and records, identifies discrepancies, investigates, and recommends solutions as needed.
• Monitors automated financial systems, documents controls to ensure data integrity, and ensures system reliability.
• Performs complex accounting and auditing reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, and reports.
• Develops and manages complex work unit budgets, analyzes funding sources and budget trends.
• Forecasts budget balances and recommends corrective action as needed.
• Answers questions and provides accounting information to internal and external stakeholders.
