Job summary

Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG) in Bethlehem Township, PA is seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead high-impact projects from kickoff to closeout, ensuring delivery on time and on budget.

You will coordinate with Engineering, Estimating, and Sales, manage budgets and contracts, oversee procurement and scheduling, and maintain safety standards while building strong customer relationships across cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• BS/BA preferred in construction management, architecture or related field can be substituted for some of the experience requirement
• Strong competency in computer software and product knowledge
• Two to four years as Assistant Project Manager in door and hardware industry or related trade (Required)

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team through all phases of the project
• Liaise with Engineering, Estimating, and Sales to ensure alignment
• Lead project meetings and provide staff development feedback
• Serve as the primary customer contact
• Address value engineering opportunities and delivery concerns while protecting project goals
• Manage budgets, profitability, and financial status with senior management
• Coordinate billing and payment tracking with Project Accountants
• Handle change orders, negotiate costs, and follow up on payments
• Ensure compliance with contract terms, submittal accuracy, and RFIs
• Oversee procurement, scheduling, and cost control
• Track progress and ensure timely closeout, including punch lists
• Maintain software proficiency and up-to-date product knowledge
• Follow OSHA safety protocols and proper lifting techniques

At Unified Door & Hardware Group (UDHG), we don’t just manage projects—we bring them to life. As a Construction Project Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind high-impact projects, taking full ownership from kickoff to closeout. You’ll lead with precision, make critical decisions, and keep everything on track, on time, on budget, and above expectations. This is a high-visibility role for a skilled leader who knows how to manage details, people, and priorities—all while building strong relationships with customers and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership & Team Coordination
  • Lead the project team (APMs, Assistants, Shipping/Receiving, Project Accountants) through all phases of the project
  • Liaise with Engineering, Estimating, and Sales to ensure alignment
  • Lead project meetings and provide feedback for staff development and performance reviews
• Client Relations & Communication
  • Serve as the primary customer contact
  • Address value engineering opportunities and delivery concerns while protecting project goals
  • Manage all project-related communication to ensure timely, accurate responses
• Financial Oversight
  • Manage and review project budgets, profitability, and financial status with senior management
  • Coordinate billing and payment tracking with Project Accountants
  • Handle change orders, negotiate costs, and follow up on outstanding payments and back charges
• Contracts, Submittals, & Change Management
  • Ensure compliance with contract terms, submittal accuracy, and RFI resolution
  • Incorporate changes via ASIs, Bulletins, and RFIs
  • Manage documentation throughout the project lifecycle
• Procurement, Scheduling & Cost Control
  • Select vendors and schedule deliveries to control costs
  • Oversee freight, labor, installation coordination, and master keying systems
  • Issue purchase orders and coordinate with Purchasing for processing
• Project Progress & Closeout
  • Track progress using internal systems and ensure timely closeout, including punch list and final payment
  • Maintain software proficiency and up-to-date product knowledge to support effective project management
• Safety
  • Follow all safety protocols and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements to maintain a safe working environment
  • Use proper lifting techniques
• Physical Requirements
  • Occasional pushing, pulling, lifting or carrying approximately 100 lbs. utilizing proper lifting procedures
• Miscellaneous
