Job summary

King's Hawaiian is seeking a production worker to assist in bread and roll production on a shift basis. The role supports equipment operation, assembly line tasks, and sanitation duties in a fast-paced bakery environment.

We value safety, reliability, and teamwork. This position is on-site in a bakery setting with opportunities to grow within our long-standing, family-owned company.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalently.
• One year of general warehouse/production work experience.
• Ability to read safety rules and procedures in English.
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift as required.

Responsibilities

• Attends roll dividing equipment to straighten dough balls in pans to meet specifications.
• Attends bread rounding equipment to place dough balls into pie tins to meet specifications.
• Monitors conveyors for jams and clears jams safely.
• Keeps work area clean and organized by sweeping and sanitation tasks.
• Attends box former and assists mixer loading ingredients as needed.

If you’re excited to rise with our team, come and join our `ohana!To perform all the various job tasks included in the production of bread and rolls.Attends to the roll dividing equipment to straighten out the dough balls in pans or trays to meet product specifications.Attends to the bread rounding equipment to place dough balls into pie tins to meet product specifications.Supplies other employees with empty pie tins.Monitors conveyors for jams, clears jams safelyInspects products for damage or for conformity to specifications. Notifies Supervisor of any non-conformance of product.Pushes material or products between machines or departments on dolly.Picks up pans from dolly, places them onto conveyor, or removes them from conveyor and places them on dolly.Moves pans, racks, and dollies to or from area.Starts or stops conveyors by pushing buttons on a control panel.Keeps work area clean and organized by picking up debris, sweeping the floor, wiping down the equipment and other sanitation jobs assigned.Attends box former by starting and stopping machine when necessary, keeping magazine full, and clearing jams safely.Helps mixer by opening boxes or bags of ingredients and loading them into mixers, hoppers, or feeders.Helps in training of new employees or employees who change job classifications.Reports all equipment problems to the foreman or supervisor immediately.Promotes safety by understanding and following safety procedures and reporting all incidents in a timely manner.Plans and carries out job assignments without creating hazards to yourself and other employees.Qualifications:To perform this job optimally, an individual needs to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to write routine quality assurance reports and correspondence in English.Mathematical skillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Physical demands:The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May require use of equipment in machine shop, small portable equipment and manual tools. Duties may require occasional operation of a motor vehicle or travel to another state on behalf of the company.Work environment:This position works on a shift basis. May also be scheduled to work all shifts. While performing the duties of this job, one exposed to moving mechanical parts. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and extreme cold.
