The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Tool Die Machinist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

• Read, understand and follow work orders, blueprints & engineering drawings.
• Measure and verify setups and parts by measuring positions, first-run parts and sample work pieces utilizing comparator, calipers, micrometers, bore gages, height gages, indicators and other measuring equipment needed.
• Manual machining turn, bore, mill within ±.001”, ID, OD, and Surface Grind: Up to 0.000050”
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, good personal safety record, report unsafe acts, conditions or equipment, keep current with safety policies.
• Select tools & select/create work holding for optimum productivity.
• Full comprehension of geometric tolerancing.
• Ability to operate CNC machinery Lathes, Mills, Grinders (Does not include programming).
• Able to complete sub-assemblies with direct supervision.
• Report time and material in manufacturing systems.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or higher.
• Minimum five (5) years of machinist experience in private, public, government or military environment and/or Technical School.
• Manual Machining and CNC Experience.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Strong conceptual skills.
• Ten (10) years of related experience.
• Functional and technical skills.

Pay & Benefits:

The starting rate of pay for this position is $31.04. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience.
