Job summary

Garney Construction in Buford, GA is seeking a Diver to assemble underwater diffusers and intakes, install pipes, and supervise dives. The Diver works on deck when not diving and performs laborer tasks as needed.

Qualified candidates will be certified in surface supplied air, hold ADCI certification, have diving experience, and be willing to travel. This role requires mechanical inclination and teamwork, with safety and quality training as needed.

Responsibilities

• Dive for building projects and inland dives.
• Implement underwater diffusers, intakes, towers, and inspections.
• Supervise the dives to ensure safety.
• Lift, carry, and position materials and tools; clean work areas.
• Operate pneumatic and electric tools, concrete vibrator, riggers, and manhole builder.
• Underwater burning/cutting experience required.
• Attend safety/quality trainings as needed.

Job description

GARNEY CONSTRUCTION

A Diver position is available at Garney. The Diver will be responsible for assembling projects underwater such as diffusers for power plants and installing pipes, or intake for water plants. They will also perform inspections underwater and supervise dives. They may be required to perform laborer-related tasks as needed. The Diver is expected to work on deck while not diving.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Dive for purposes of building the project, inland dives only
• Implements projects for diffusers, intakes, towers, and inspections all under water
• Supervises the dives to ensure safety when diving
• Lifts, carries, and holds building materials, tools, and supplies
• Cleans tools, equipment, and work areas
• Use of pneumatic and electric tools, concrete vibrator, pipeline top man, riggers, and manhole builder
• Underwater burning/cutting experience required
• Additional duties may require in person or online training for safety, quality, or other functions related to the job
