Job summary

People Technology And Processes seeks a Diving Maintenance Specialist to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diving life support equipment at JEB Little Creek - Fort Story, VA. The role requires SECRET clearance and extensive dive hardware experience.

You will develop curricula for E-UBA maintenance technicians, deliver training, maintain records, and manage asset inventories and gain/loss of capital assets for Dive Division. Travel to remote NSW sites is expected.

Qualifications

  • Navy Dive School Certified (NEC 5342 / M1DV) or higher.
  • Minimum five years experience as a certified diver (5342 / M1DV or higher).
  • MK-16 and MK-25 Maintenance Technician qualifications.
  • 3M Maintenance and Material Management credentials.
  • NAVEDTRA 43910-Series qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on diving life support and related equipment.
  • Develop and deliver end-user training for E-UBA maintenance technicians and maintain training records.
  • Manage asset issuance, turn-in, and inventory for Dive Division assets.
  • Conduct monthly, bi-annual, and annual inventories of gear.
  • Process documentation for missing, lost, or damaged property and support requisitioning.

Location: JEB Little Creek - Fort Story, Virginia Beach, VA
Clearance required: SECRET

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
  • Conducts scheduled and unscheduled preventative and corrective maintenance as mandated by OPNAV Instruction 4790 scheduled in 3M for all open circuit and closed circuit items including E-UBA, MODE, SCUBA tanks, regulators, air compressors, Haskel oxygen and N2O2 charging booster pumps and kits, diagnostic test equipment and tools, buoyancy compensators, surface swim life preservers, depth gauges, pressure gauges, underwater communications equipment, full face diving masks, Diving Life Support Systems (DLSS) associated equipment and NAVSEA Certified Life Support Systems.
  • Develop and write comprehensive curricula for end-user training on the E-UBA to qualify E-UBA maintenance technicians. Deliver training and certification programs to NSW personnel, ensuring operational proficiency. Maintain training records and provide feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement. Must be available to travel to conduct training and maintenance at remote sites within NSW.
  • Process requests, maintain records, and manage the issue, turn-in, gain, and loss of capital assets, minor property, and operational consumables (OPCON) assigned to Dive Division.
  • Conducts monthly inventories, bi-annual inventories, and annual inventories of gear managed in ELMS/DPAS by NSWG-2 N4.
  • Investigates and process paperwork for missing, lost, stolen or damaged property.
  • Assists with customer service, issue turn-in, issue, lost, stolen, and/or damaged documents (DD Form 1149, DD Form 1150, DD Form 1348, DD Form 200) and receipt of diving equipment. Check and track dive equipment requests on NIPR/SIPR network and assist in procuring and issuing dive equipment with SEAL Team representatives.
  • Maintains access and complete required training to manage inventories within the command Accountability Property System Record (APSR) through ELMS/DPAS programs.
  • Obtain factory-trained certifications for E-UBA as needed or required. Prior experience is not required. Costs associated with certifications and travel are financial responsibility of NSW.
Qualifications
  • Prior E-UBA experience is not required.
  • Navy Dive School Certified (NEC 5342 / M1DV, USCG OPSDC, or higher)
  • Minimum five years experience as a certified 5342 / M1DV, USCG OPSDC, or higher diver.
  • MK-16 Maintenance Technician.
  • MK-25 Maintenance Technician.
  • Qualification as a Maintenance & Material Management (3M) Maintenance Person, 3M Quality Assurance Craftsman, and 3M Work Center Supervisor.
  • Qualified in accordance with NAVEDTRA 43910-(Series).
  • Possess factory trained certification for diving equipment within inventory, DLSS Re-Entry Control (REC) Supervisor, and Oxygen Clean System Worker.
  • Minimum of Three (3) years NSW experience.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with others, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain forklift license up to 6,000lb capacity.
  • Must meet the requirements to obtain and check out government vehicles / CESE for use in their official duties.
