Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent, or substitution with two years of nutrition experience.
• Experience working with culturally diverse families/communities and ability to communicate with diverse populations.
• Ability to communicate and maintain good working relations with staff, students, community representatives, and nutrition services management.
• Initiative and ability to follow directions and training from senior personnel.
• Ability to follow required production planners for effective food preparation and service; read and comprehend recipes and directions for equipment use.
• Maintain a valid Food Handlers Card.
• Basic computer skills; possess or receive meal‑computer/POS training.
• Ability to pass pre‑placement drug and physical examinations.

Responsibilities

• Store food and equipment in specified locations.
• Read and follow recipes and prepare meals to serve.
• Weigh, measure and mix ingredients.
• Slice, chop, dice and prepare food products for cooking.
• Follow food safety standards for storage, preparation, and serving.
• Operate the secondary school POS meal computer.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Nutrition Services Management.
• Attend scheduled training and substitute as needed.
