Qualifications

  • Degree in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
  • Combination of post high school education with courses equivalent to a major (24 semester/36 quarter hours) in biological sciences, agriculture or related fields, plus appropriate experience or additional course work.
  • For GS-11, a year of specialized experience or 3 years of grad education leading to a Ph.D. in related fields, or equivalent combination.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, developing, organizing, and administering complex programs to reduce wildlife damage.
  • Represent the program at meetings, conferences, and events at local, regional and national levels.
  • Provide direction and oversight in preparing scientific and administrative reports and program documents.
  • Support environmental compliance through document development and review of related records and assessments.
  • Coordinate with Federal, State/Territorial, and local agencies and private groups to identify wildlife management needs and solutions.
