Harwood Unified Union School District seeks a Substitute - Teacher for district-wide coverage in Duxbury, Vermont. The role requires a valid teaching license or eligibility, or related credentials. You will deliver planned lessons, maintain routines, manage student behavior, and complete daily activity reports.

Position starts immediately and reports to the principal or department head. Assignments may span multiple schools within the district under established policies.

Qualifications

• Education/Experience/Licenses: meet at least one: A. VT or other state teaching license; B. VT RN/LPN, Cosmetology, Dental Assisting etc.; C. Undergraduate degree; D. High school diploma with alternative qualifications approved by Superintendent.
• Language Skills: read/interpret lesson plans and safety rules, write routine reports, present information to groups.
• Computer Skills: Word processing and database familiarity.
• Reasoning: solve practical problems with limited standardization.
• Communication: communicate with students, staff, parents and outside organizations.

Responsabilités

• Reports to the building principal or school secretary upon arrival.
• Reviews with the principal, department head, or team leader plans and schedules for the day.
• Maintains routines and procedures of the school and classroom.
• Teaches the lesson outlined in the substitute folder.
• Consults with supervisor before initiating new procedures not in folder.
• Oversees pupil behavior in class, lunch, and recess.
• Reports in writing on daily activities at end of day/period.
• Follows policies and procedures applicable to regular teachers.
