Job summary

Joplin R 8 School District is seeking a Substitute School Nurse to provide nursing support district-wide on an as-needed basis. The role requires a licensed LPN or RN and involves maintaining health records, conducting screenings, and advising staff, students, and families on health matters.

Starting immediately, this supplemental position reports to the Nurse Coordinator and participates in SWIFT-related health activities.

Qualifications

• Licensed LPN or RN is required.

Responsibilities

• Substitute for Nurses across the District as needed.
• Maintains a complete and up-to-date health record system using available technology.
• Plans and conducts screenings, examinations, and health appraisals in accordance with State Law and District Policy.
• Monitors newly enrolled students to ensure State Law and District Policy are implemented.
• Administers medication as needed.
• Communicates with parents/guardians regarding health issues and student care.
