Job summary

Plymouth Public Schools is seeking a District-wide General Cafeteria Substitute Worker to assist in daily lunch preparation, learn stations, maintain kitchen cleanliness, and support the Lead Cook.

Requirements include a High School diploma and one year of related experience; Serve Safe certification preferred; familiarity with POS systems; starting date to be determined; wage is $16.81 per hour with no benefits.

THE PLYMOUTH PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT IS SEEKING A DISTRICT-WIDE GENERAL CAFETERIA SUBSTITUTE WORKER

Reports to: Lead Cook at needed school per Director’s request

Major Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing daily lunches.
• Learn the various food stations and methods of display.
• Help maintain clean kitchen.
• Notify the Lead Cook of any equipment in need of maintenance or repairs.
• Develop a knowledge of State regulations.
• Learn the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, as necessary.

These statements describe the essential responsibilities of the job; other duties not described here may be assigned as needed. Regular and consistent attendance is considered an essential function of this position.

Knowledge and Skills Required

• High School and one year of previous related experience in school food service preferred.
• Serve Safe certification with appropriate experience and training (preferred).
• Familiarity with various point of sale systems (preferred).
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and co-workers.
• Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication.
• Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies.
