Job summary

Seattle Public Schools is seeking a seasoned Supervisor of Safety and Security to oversee staff, coordinate incident response, and ensure district policies are followed across schools in the Seattle area.

Under general direction, you will lead division leads and security specialists, develop procedures and training, conduct confidential investigations, collaborate with Seattle Police and city partners, and respond to critical incidents district-wide.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience in Safety program management or related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Juvenile Justice or Emergency Management.
• Experience in investigations and evidence handling.

Responsibilities

• Supervises safety and security staff, assigns and reviews work.
• Collaborates with police, City Crime Councils and schools to prevent and respond to incidents.
• Responds to critical incidents district-wide; develops operation orders.
• Conducts investigations; maintains confidentiality and analyzes patterns in reports.
• Transports illegal drugs and weapons to the evidence safe; maintains chain of custody.
• Attends meetings and seminars to stay current on trends and practices.
