Job summary

Hudson Public Schools in Hudson, Massachusetts is seeking a District Wide Night Custodian to support a safe, clean, and efficient learning environment across district buildings.

This floating position covers multiple sites with shifts 2:00-10:00 pm or 3:00-11:00 pm, depending on coverage, and requires reading basic operating instructions, good health, CORI clearance, and the ability to communicate in English with staff and the public.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read basic operating instructions and write reports.
• Must communicate effectively in English with administration, staff, and the public.
• Demonstrated aptitude for completing assigned tasks.
• CORI and fingerprint checks required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and regularly maintain boilers and other major equipment.
• Assist in painting and general repairs to plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general mechanical areas as needed.
• Report broken windows or provide temporary coverings as needed.
• Assist other staff or contracted personnel as necessary.
• Assist in snow removal and ensure walkways are sanded.
• Participate in general cleaning and maintenance of the school building.
• Move furniture or equipment as required for activities and as directed by the principal.
• Open and close the building and secure all doors and windows each day.
