Job summary

Beverly Public Schools is seeking a substitute teacher to lead classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher and to support a safe, engaging, and academically challenging learning environment for all students.

The successful candidate will follow the adopted course of study, maintain attendance and grades, establish order, and exercise professional judgment. Availability to substitute multiple days per week across the district is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred.
• Candidates must have completed at least one year of college (sophomore standing or higher).

Responsibilities

• A substitute teacher leads classroom instruction in the absence of the regular teacher and supports a safe, engaging and academically challenging learning environment for all students.
• Assumes responsibility for teaching students utilizing a course of study adopted by the Beverly Public Schools and/or appropriate curriculum publications.
• Maintains appropriate records such as attendance and grades as directed by the classroom teacher.
• Establishes and maintains order in the classroom; maintains a classroom environment conducive to learning.
• A successful candidate employs responsible and professional decision making which is governed by good judgement.
• We are seeking applicants who are available to substitute multiple days per week across the district.
