Job summary

The State of California is looking for a professional to manage the development of the modernized project management software used for public schools and community colleges. The successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Structural Engineer to ensure compliance with California regulations and expedite the plan review process.

This role allows for telework up to two days a week, but candidates must reside in California. It requires a commitment to contributing positively to a collaborative and ethical work environment.

Qualifications

Job Description and Duties

This position is eligible to telework up to two (2) days a week, in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy, and will be required to report to the office as needed/required. This is subject to change based on operational need and/or future return to office orders. The successful candidate must reside in California upon appointment.

Under the general direction of the Principal Structural Engineer, the position acts as the subject matter expert by managing the development and implementation of the modernization of DSA’s project and program management software system (eTracker) used for public schools, community colleges, and essential services building projects submitted to the DSA and used to manage databases for statutory programs. This position will promote and maintain state‑wide efforts to expedite the plan review and ensure plan review consistency amongst the four Regional Offices to ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules and California Code Regulations related to policies and procedures, directives and guidelines established by the California Building Code.

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.

This position may require travel.

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship by the start date of employment. The Department of General Services does not participate in E‑Verify for employment authorization purposes.
