Position Mission:

The District Shift Leader is responsible for performing actions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of a top-performing bakery, including front line work at the bakery; on the job training of Shift Leaders and other Team Members; ensuring the bakery is clean and operating in accordance with brand standards; and creating a memorable experience for every guest while delivering fast and friendly service and quality products in a clean, safe bakery environment.

District Shift Leaders are the next General Manager in the organization and must lead to that standard in the absence of the General Manager.

Responsibilities Include , but are not limited to :

Supporting customer-facing operations by :

  • Engaging in safe, high quality food production and standards of execution of the menu

  • Interfacing with customers and providing fast and friendly service

  • Providing on-the-job training to Shift Leaders and other Team Members to further high-quality food production and meet standards of execution of the menu

  • Ensuring Shift Leader and Team Member compliance with directives from the General Manager

  • Ensuring customer-facing operations are conducted in accordance with brand standards

  • Working with Shift Leaders and Team Members to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests

  • Assisting the General Manager with weekly work schedules for Shift Leaders and other Team Members

  • Assisting the General Manager with catering engagements and deliveries

Supporting bakery operations by:

  • Being a role model for Team Members by always striving to deliver an exceptional experience to every guest

  • Treating all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction

  • Being knowledgeable of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the bakery and notifying the General Manager of any potential non-compliance with such regulations

  • Participating in and implementing General Manager and Company initiatives in a timely and thorough manner

  • Learning the primary duties of the General Manager to oversee operations for brief, temporary periods if the General Manager is absent

  • Making bank deposits if directed by the General Manager

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • A minimum of 1- 2 years of leadership experience is strongly preferred.

  • Must be able to read, count and accurately complete documentation in English

  • Must be able to read and understand menu boards and order prompters/monitors

  • Required to provide and wear non-slip shoes in conjunction with the uniform policy

  • Must be able to work varied hours/days as business dictates including early hours (as early as 3am depending on the restaurant) and weekends

  • Must be able to pass background check as applicable with local, state, and federal law

  • Must be in possession of, or able to acquire , a ServSafe Certification prior to completion of leadership training and any local requirements such as choke saver, allergen training, county certificate, food handlers’ card, etc .

  • Must be in possession of a current, valid, state issued driver’s license and meet the driving qualifications as required by Company policy

  • Must be able and willing to fill in for General Managers at other locations within the market to cover leaves of absence or paid time off.

  • Must be able and willing to accept a permanent General Manager promotion at other locations within the assigned market.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. These physical requirements may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodation . While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 5 0 p ounds.Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.Ability to process vague, abstract verbal and written instructions.Ability to work under stress, interruptions, and tight deadlines.The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, with little exposure to chemicals and potential exposure to smoke .This position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
