Job summary

Littleton Public Schools is hiring a District Security Officer for a full-time, 12-month position at the District Office. The role requires monitoring of security systems, reviewing bus videos, and patrolling district property with readiness for after-hours emergencies.

Shifts include days, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays in a 24/7 operation. A high school diploma is required; CPI and FEMA CERT certifications must be obtained within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Must have high school degree or equivalent.
• Must obtain CPI certification within six months of employment.
• Must obtain FEMA CERT certification within one year of employment.
• Must obtain all other certificates.
• Required to maintain current First Aid/CPR certification during course of employment.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• Preferred at least 3 years of experience in security system monitoring or law enforcement.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and respond to district security, CCTV, HVAC, and fire systems.
• Log alarms, incidents, and access events to standard reporting systems.
• Conduct patrols of district property by foot or vehicle.
• Review bus surveillance footage (4–6 hours per shift) and document findings for leadership.
• De-escalate conflicts and communicate professionally with staff, students, and the public.
• Perform maintenance and diagnostics on security devices and systems.
• Respond to emergencies as a first responder and coordinate with others.
