District Sales Manager, Edwards Safety

Location: CANYO: Carrier-Home New York Remote Location, Remote City, NY, 13088 USA - KGS

About this role

The ideal candidate will reside in Upstate New York, covering all of Upstate NY except NYC and Long Island and will manage a team of channel partners.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Meet or exceed the assigned district sale targets by managing Channel partners, National Accounts, Corporate Accounts and OEM Partners.
  2. Ensure the establishment and development of professional relationships with strategic prospects for better understanding and meeting the customer needs within the bounds of contracted scope.
  3. Responsible for coordinating the business development activities for prospects to support the business strategy defined by leadership.
  4. Analyzes bid opportunities, prepares final bid responses with team, negotiates with potential customers and maintains customer relationships to win projects.
  5. Contacts potential prospects to discuss their needs, and to explain how these needs could be met by specific products and services in order to create new client base and increase sales.
  6. Responsible for product presentations and workshops. Educates prospects and advises the product line, addressing resistance in order to develop business.
  7. Supports the management team representative on target accounts or territories. Maintains personal pipeline and customer log. Hunting for opportunities.
  8. Responsible for developing and implementing an annual district sales plan.
  9. Responsible for providing sales expertise and appropriate resources to support Channel Partner sales force to reach and exceed target sales volume goals.
  10. Develop and promote strong product and application knowledge and apply it to the Channel partners, A & E Firms and End User customers.
  11. Assist the Channel Partners in developing and implementing a successful business plan.
  12. Discuss sales and business issues, negotiate and resolve challenges and conflicts with high-level Channel Partner, and end user personnel.
  13. District Manager will be assigned to specific Channel partners and are solely responsible for their individual growth.
  14. All National Account and internal leads will be provided to District Manager and appropriate Channel Partners will be assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree and 5+ years of experience selling fire detection equipment through a distribution channel in a defined territory.
  2. OR
  3. Master’s Degree and 3+ years of experience selling fire detection equipment through a distribution channel in a defined territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Excellent presentation skills both written and verbal, communication skills, basic computer skills and high energy level required.
  2. Product and code knowledge and application usage.
  3. Five or more years of experience in creating, managing and growing a network of distributors.
  4. Willingness to travel up to 60% in assigned territory.
  5. Excellent interpersonal skills are essential. Technical savvy and the ability to present are required.
  6. You must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process.
  7. You must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.
  8. You must be willing to work out of a virtual office.
