Job summary

Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A. Engine Division is seeking a District Sales Manager for the greater Northwest Chicago Suburbs, Rockford, IL and Eastern Wisconsin. You will grow the dealer network and increase replacement engine and parts sales while maintaining close dealer communications.

Relocation will be approved on a case-by-case basis. Daily travel with 65% overnight travel is required, offering opportunities to lead market growth across IL, WI and MI.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of direct sales experience required
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Experience in consumer product sales is strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and secures dealer prospects and processes dealer applications.
  • Analyzes historical data to find growth opportunities for the territory.
  • Plans and schedules territory travel to visit current and prospective dealers.
  • Wholesales Kawasaki products to dealers and assists with sales merchandising.
  • Maintains effective communication between departments and dealers.
  • Ensures dealers understand Kawasaki programs and materials.
  • Communicates with dealers via email campaigns.
  • Manages dealer accounts and addresses service or product issues.
  • Attends annual update schools and helps lead/present trainings.
  • Encourages dealers to attend technical update schools.
  • Compiles market intelligence and competitive information.
  • Prepares weekly/monthly expense and dealer call reports.
  • Ensures dealer adherence to sales/service agreements.
  • Aids credit department with delinquent accounts as needed.
  • Meets sales goals as determined by management.

The Engine Division of Kawasaki Motors Corp, headquartered in Grand Rapids, MI has an immediate opening for a District Sales Manager based in the greater NorthWest Chicago Suburbs, Rockford, IL and Eastern Wisconsin.

Relocation will be approved on a case-by-case basis.Travel is daily….with 65% over night travel required.

As a District Sales Manager, you will be responsible for growing our dealer network, increasing replacement engine and parts sales, and maintaining communication between Kawasaki and its dealers across portions of IL, WI & MI.

Responsibilities:
  • Identifies and secures dealer prospects and coordinates dealer applications. Responds to new applications by processing promptly.
  • Find business growth opportunities through analysis of historical data.
  • Plans assigned territory travel in an organized and efficient manner to visit or call on established and prospective engines dealers.
  • Wholesales Kawasaki products to dealers and assists with the implementation and retail sales merchandising efforts.
  • Maintains a high level of effective communication between all departments at Kawasaki.
  • Assures dealership staff understands all Kawasaki programs and maintains all Kawasaki communication materials.
  • Able to effectively communicate with dealers through email campaigns.
  • Maintains dealer business by soliciting service or product related issues from dealership staff.
  • Attends the annual update schools to help lead and present, provide support and share information.
  • Encourages dealers to attend the annual technical update schools.
  • Research and maintain information on competitors for current market intelligence.
  • Obtains and distributes regular industry and competitive company/product/program information. Provide market data, dealer comments and feedback for appropriate markets.
  • Prepare various weekly and monthly reports including expense reports and dealer call reports as required and in a timely manner.
  • Assures that dealers operate within the framework of and adhere to the requirements and policies set forth in the sales and service agreement.
  • Assists credit department with delinquent accounts as necessary.
  • Meet sales goals as determined by management.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of direct sales experience required
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and organized
  • Prior experience selling consumer products is strongly desired
  • Experience in the lawn & garden industry will receive special consideration
