Job description

Job Title: District Safety Coordinator

The District Safety Coordinator is responsible for understanding the vision of the Firetrol Corporate Safety Department and coordinating the implementation of the safety program at the local level for our Dallas, Fort Worth, & Tyler, TX offices.

The following duties and responsibilities will be the daily focus of this position:

  1. Support all Firetrol Operations teams (Contracts, Services, Inspection) with job-specific safety requirements.
  2. Conduct planned and unannounced job site visits to ensure compliance with OSHA and Firetrol safety protocols.
  3. Perform field investigations, in cooperation with Corporate Safety Leadership, of any accidents or incidents.
  4. Provide in-person training and corrective mentoring to staff in the field.
  5. Coordinate specialty training needs for departments and projects.
  6. Identify safety trends to help refine our safety program.
  7. Ensure regular vehicle inspections of company vehicles, trailers, and UTVs by drivers and supervisors.
  8. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
  9. Review reports from Firetrol's Learning Management System to promote safety training completion.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college coursework or a diploma in safety-related topics is preferred.
  • OSHA 30 certification or the ability to obtain it within 30 days of assignment.
  • The ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and complete assignments within given parameters.
  • Availability to travel between offices and job sites in Dallas, Fort Worth, and Tyler using a company vehicle.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical requirements include:

  • Ability to visit construction sites and facilities, including walking, climbing ladders and stairs, navigating rooftops, and walking on uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to enter and maneuver in crawl spaces, attics, and other areas where fire protection systems are installed.
  • Ability to see and identify hazards at a distance.
  • Capability to work in extreme temperatures, such as freezers, attics, or high-temperature facilities.
