Job summary

RE‑1 Valley School District seeks a District Nurse to lead health services across the district, promoting student health, safety, and attendance while coordinating nursing services and ensuring regulatory compliance.

The District Nurse serves as the district's licensed healthcare professional, establishing a safe learning environment and collaborating with staff, families, healthcare providers, and community agencies.

Qualifications

Current unrestricted Colorado RN license.
BSN preferred.
CPR/AED certification current.
Valid Colorado driver’s license.
Ability to travel between district buildings.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing assessments for students with acute and chronic conditions.
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs).
Develop Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for students with significant medical needs.
Coordinate nursing care for students with diabetes, seizures, asthma, and other conditions.
Oversee district medication administration procedures and train staff.
Maintain confidential student health records in compliance with FERPA.
