Job description

As a District Manager, you must have strong leadership skills, be self‑motivated, and able to recruit, train, and retain a team of highly capable Store Managers. You must also be organized, detail‑oriented, and possess excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities. It is important that you display exceptional verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, as well as the ability to inspire your team to exceed customer expectations.

Specific Qualifications for the Role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of retail management experience (multi‑unit experience preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, good communication skills, self‑directed, self‑motivated, and customer service oriented.
  • Ability to supervise and train Store Managers (SM) in the use of store equipment, tools and materials.
  • Ability to supervise and manage the functions outlined in the Store Manager job description.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Current valid driver’s license and insurability as a driver.
  • Proficiency in English (both oral and written).
  • Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities and work in the conditions described below.
Job Responsibilities
  • Maximize store sales by directing and assisting the Store Manager with merchandising programs, providing information and recap of promotional activities.
  • Manage controllable costs including merchandise/cash variations, salaries, overtime, cash, repair, and maintenance.
  • Achieve financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing annual budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective action.
  • Ensure vendors meet expectations through performance evaluation and partnership development.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, and governmental regulations; advise management on needed actions.
  • Provide leadership and direction to store managers, assisting with recruitment, selection, orientation, and employee development and training programs.
  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment through enforcement of safety practices, providing information and training.
  • Operate with non‑discriminatory management skills.
  • Perform multiple tasks in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented environment.
  • Develop, manage, and assign tasks to Store Managers to ensure the site is clean, stocked, organized, and well‑kept according to company standards.
  • Maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisors.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
