Job summary

A Plus Automotive is seeking a District Manager in Training to grow into a multi-unit leadership role. You will learn our POS system, processes, and operations by running a store for 3-6 months, demonstrating your ability to lead a team, deliver results, and develop your replacement.

Promotion to District Manager is earned by proving you can operate a location, build a strong team, and consistently deliver performance while advancing the company’s vision and initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on leadership development role requiring learning our POS system, processes, and store operations.
  • Strong focus on achieving KPIs, staff development, and customer/service excellence.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, coach performance, and drive results.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all General Manager duties while in training.
  • Ensure locations open on time and operate until scheduled closing.
  • Be properly staffed for business needs, including inspectors in NC locations.
  • Monitor daily KPIs and mid-day performance checks to hit goals.
  • Adjust operations to improve performance and control labor.
  • Send daily recap emails detailing challenges, opportunities, and wins.
  • Submit weekly goal improvement plans.
  • Act as a leader and motivator with high energy and engagement.
  • Hold team members accountable through coaching and corrective actions.
  • Handle escalated customer concerns, claims, and warranties over $100.
  • Complete and manage Personal Action Forms for employee changes.
  • Recruit, hire, and build a strong talent pipeline.
  • Manage customer feedback and online reviews with professional responses.
  • Verify payroll accuracy weekly (Thursday) and ensure data integrity.
  • Manage inventory and approve orders within budget.
  • Maintain professional email communication and detailed responses.
  • Build bench strength through cross-training and succession planning.
  • Support company initiatives, contests, and incentives.
  • Complete payroll, bonuses, and new-hire tasks by Monday 8 AM.
  • Deliver exceptional employee and customer experiences.
  • Drive growth by recruiting staff and controlling labor.
  • Advance store growth through training, process adherence, and performance management.

We are seeking a District Manager in Training (DMT) who is ready to grow into a multi-unit leadership role and help drive that vision forward.

Position Overview

This is a hands‑on leadership development role. Candidates will be required to learn our POS system, processes, and operations by running a store for 3-6 months. During this time, you will demonstrate your ability to lead a team, deliver results, and develop your replacement.

Promotion to District Manager role is earned by proving you can successfully operate a location, build a strong team, and consistently deliver performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all General Manager duties while in training
  • Ensure all locations:
    • Open on time and operate until scheduled closing
  • Are properly staffed for business needs, including key roles (e.g., inspectors in NC locations)
  • Monitor and manage daily KPIs, including mid-day (1 PM) performance checks to ensure pacing toward goals
  • Adjust operations as needed to improve performance and control labor
  • Send a daily recap email summarizing:
    • Challenges addressed
    • Opportunities identified and action plans created
    • Wins achieved
  • Submit a weekly goal improvement plan
  • Act as a leader and motivator, maintaining a high level of energy, positivity, and engagement
  • Hold team members accountable:
    • Recognize strong performance
    • Address missed expectations through coaching and corrective action
  • Handle escalated customer concerns, claims, and warranties over $100
  • Complete and manage all Personal Action Forms (PAFs) for employee changes
  • Recruit, hire, and continuously build a strong talent pipeline
  • Manage customer feedback and online reviews, responding professionally and taking action when needed
  • Verify payroll accuracy weekly (Thursday):
    • Ensure timecards, breaks, and employee data are correct
  • Manage inventory and approve orders within budget
  • Maintain strong communication by responding to emails with professionalism and detail
  • Build bench strength through cross‑training and succession planning
  • Support and promote company initiatives, contests, and incentives
  • Ensure all administrative tasks (payroll, bonuses, new hires, PAFs) are completed by Monday at 8 AM
Expectations
  • Work 5 days / 55 hours per week in-store, while remaining engaged and available as needed
  • Lead by example and build a team that enjoys their work and takes pride in performance
  • Increase sales, control costs, and drive profitability
  • Teach, train, coach, and motivate teams to achieve bonuses
  • Delegate effectively and follow up to ensure execution
  • Deliver consistent performance management
