Job description

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced District Manager to lead the performance of multiple Wingstop restaurants. This role is responsible for developing strong General Managers, driving consistent restaurant execution, and ensuring each location meets expectations for people, guest experience, sales, profitability, food safety, and workplace safety.

The right candidate is a hands-on multi-unit leader who understands how to balance operational standards with financial performance. You should be comfortable using P&L and restaurant performance data to identify opportunities, coaching leaders through challenges, and maintaining a regular presence in the restaurants you support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop General Managers across assigned restaurants.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold restaurant leaders accountable for results and follow-through.
  • Monitor sales, labor, food cost, inventory, controllable expenses, and overall profitability across the district.
  • Review P&L statements and operating reports to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain consistent standards for food quality, speed of service, order accuracy, cleanliness, hospitality, and guest experience.
  • Coach General Managers on staffing, scheduling, training, employee development, labor management, inventory, waste, and restaurant execution.
  • Conduct regular restaurant visits and use observations, performance results, guest feedback, and operational evaluations to develop practical action plans.
  • Partner with Human Resources on staffing needs, employee relations, performance management, investigations, and other employment matters.
  • Ensure restaurants consistently follow Company requirements for food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, incident reporting, timekeeping, and other compliance responsibilities.
  • Develop a strong leadership pipeline and identify opportunities to prepare Assistant General Managers, Shift Leads, and other employees for advancement.
  • Identify local business and community opportunities that may help restaurants increase visibility, guest traffic, and sales.
  • Provide hands-on operational support when business conditions require it.
What We’re Looking For
  • Demonstrated multi-unit restaurant leadership experience.
  • High-volume quick-service or fast-casual restaurant experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience overseeing multiple restaurant locations, with responsibility for approximately 5–10 locations strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant P&L, labor management, food and inventory cost, controllable expenses, and sales performance.
  • Proven ability to coach and develop General Managers while maintaining clear accountability for results.
  • Strong operational judgment with the ability to identify problems, establish priorities, and follow through across multiple locations.
  • Working knowledge of restaurant food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and compliance expectations.
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel regularly between assigned restaurants.
  • Flexible availability based on business needs, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak operating periods.
What Success Looks Like

A successful District Manager builds strong General Managers who can independently operate successful restaurants. Their district delivers consistent guest experiences, maintains strong operational and safety standards, develops employees for future leadership opportunities, and achieves sustainable sales and profitability goals.

You will be successful in this role if you can lead through your General Managers rather than simply manage around them, recognize where restaurants need support, and turn performance opportunities into clear actions that produce measurable results.

1997 saw the opening of our first franchised Wingstop location, and by 2002 we had served the world one billion wings. It's flavor that defines us and has made Wingstop one of the fastest growing brands in the restaurant industry.
Wingstop is the destination when you crave fresh never faked wings, hand-cut seasoned fries and any of our famous sides. For people who demand flavor in everything they do, there's only Wingstop - because it's more than a meal, it's a flavor experience.
