Job summary

Rural King in Fort Wayne, IN seeks an experienced District Manager to lead a team of Store Managers, drive district revenue, and ensure an exceptional customer experience across stores.

The role requires strong leadership, strategic oversight of budgets, inventory, pricing, and front-end service. Travel is expected, with overnight stays; relocation may be needed to support district needs.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of retail management experience.
• 2+ years multi-store management experience preferred.
• Willing to relocate as business dictates.
• Ability to travel daily with 3–4 overnights per week based on needs.
• MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency.
• Independent work capability.
• Eligible to obtain a Federal Firearms License (FFL) and comply with local requirements.
• Ability to access and use in-store equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to coach and mentor team members.
• Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks.
• Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Store Managers to drive revenue and customer experience.
• Analyze financial reports to meet budget goals such as sales and expenses.
• Drive people initiatives, in-stock, pricing, front-end service, and safety compliance.
• Identify district opportunities and collaborate with Store Managers to overcome obstacles.
• Maximize inventory control and loss prevention.
• Develop internal talent and promote growth within the district.
• Represent Rural King’s mission and values in daily operations.
