Job summary

The Illinois Education Job Bank seeks a visionary Chief Technology Officer to lead district IT strategy, security, data analytics, and digital transformation. You will partner with school leaders to align technology with educational goals, shape capital plans, and manage an enterprise IT portfolio.

You will supervise a cross-functional team, drive policy development, vendor partnerships, and ensure SOPPA compliance while delivering reliable, high-impact systems to support teaching and learning

Qualifications

• 10+ years of technology leadership experience, including at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.
• CTO or equivalent leadership experience preferred.
• Classroom teaching experience is welcome but not required.
• Advanced degree in CS, engineering, or business (MBA preferred).
• CoSN CETL certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead IT strategy and governance aligned with district objectives.
• Oversee cybersecurity and SOPPA compliance.
