Job summary

State Center Community College District seeks a seasoned security executive to lead enterprise IT security architecture, risk management, and policy enforcement. The role ensures integrity, confidentiality and protection of information assets across all colleges and locations.

Responsibilities include vulnerability assessments, incident response coordination, and ongoing security governance. Public sector experience is a plus; CISSP is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology with at least five years of security-focused experience.
• Experience in security architecture development, risk identification and mitigation, and compliance.
• Public agency experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, implement and evaluate IT security architecture, policies and standards for the District.
• Lead vulnerability assessments and monitor security threats across the District’s IT infrastructure.
• Develop and deliver security training and incident notification procedures.
• Coordinate incident response with law enforcement and stakeholders; track remediation to closure.
• Administer security technologies including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR and IAM systems.
• Conduct security audits and drive corrective actions to reduce risk and ensure compliance.
• Maintain security documentation, disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
