Job summary

USD 313 is seeking a District Grounds Maintenance employee for a 12-month, full-time role with 40 hours weekly and overtime as needed. The position reports to the Director of Grounds and is classified as Non-Exempt under Board Policy.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, maintenance experience, ability to read and follow instructions, Kansas driver’s license, and TB testing as required by health regulations. Primary duties involve outdoor grounds care and facilities readiness.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in maintenance work with working knowledge of various phases of maintenance.
• Must be able to read, write and comprehend written and oral instructions.
• Licensed driver in the state of Kansas.
• Maintain current TB testing as required by Health Department regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform sports set-up and tear-down both inside and outside.
• Maintain school grounds in top condition to ensure full and productive use of district facilities.
• Respond to change and frequent interruptions in a productive and positive manner.
• Operate all equipment and machinery appropriately as necessary.
• Work as a substitute in the custodial/laundry department as needed.
• Ensure all activities conform to District guidelines.
• Communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with members of the school district and community to ensure a positive work environment.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student and staff information in order to remain in compliance with legal requirements and to maintain a professional work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
