The School District of Desoto County is seeking a Director of Finance to oversee the district's financial operations, reporting, and budget development. You will manage accounting, forecasting, and compliance with financial standards, while supporting the Superintendent and district leadership.

The role emphasizes long-range financial planning, audit coordination, and collaboration with departments to optimize resources and safeguard assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with three (3) years of accounting or governmental finance experience.
• Associate's degree with five (5) years of accounting or governmental finance experience.
• High school diploma with eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience in governmental finance.
• Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Supervise insurance contract development.
• Lead the preparation of FTE forecasts, projections, and reporting.
• Prepare and develop the annual school district budget and financial reports.
• Direct the preparation of financial and cost reports and warrant lists.
• Establish procedures for timely reconciliation of bank accounts and payroll.
