Job summary

The State of Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development seeks a District Administrator for District 5 to provide leadership to district staff, implement policy and set strategic direction from the Assistant Secretary of Operations, and oversee resource planning and program administration.

The role requires a Louisiana Professional Engineer license with supervisory experience or equivalent, and a track record of managing complex transportation projects.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current Louisiana Professional Engineer license.
• Two years of supervisory-level experience required or equivalent.
• Four years of licensed engineering experience; or eight years of professional engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to the district staff.
• Implement policies and direction from the Assistant Secretary of Operations.
• Advise on transportation planning and resource allocation within the district.
• Coordinate with agencies and private interests to support the Agency’s goals.
• Develop, interpret, and implement policies covering construction, maintenance, design, public works, operations, permitting, and traffic.
• Monitor and report on the progress and status of district work requests.
