Job summary

The District Court Coordinator position in Hudson oversees the master docket for District Courts, coordinates court settings, and ensures timely notifications to attorneys, defendants, and probation officers.

Under general direction, you will develop procedures for docket and case flow, supervise daily operations, and support efficient, fair disposition of cases while maintaining compliance with state standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a closely related field and three (3) years of court operations or administration experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Good knowledge of court procedures and case flow management; knowledge of indigency requirements.
  • Skill in communicating effectively with hostile, abusive, or irrational individuals; skill in analyzing legal information; proficiency in software programs such as Microsoft XP Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to operate a personal computer and basic office equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, judges, attorneys, outside organizations, the news media, and the public.

Responsibilities

Summary

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Criminal Justice or a closely related field and three (3) years of court operations or administration experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Good knowledge of court procedures and case flow management; knowledge of indigency requirements
  • Skill in communicating effectively with hostile, abusive, or irrational individuals; skill in analyzing legal information; proficiency in software programs such as Microsoft XP Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing; ability to operate a personal computer and basic office equipment; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees, Elected/Appointed Officials, judges, attorneys, outside organizations, the news media, and the public
  • Must secure and maintain valid Texas Certification in Trial Court Management within two years after employment
  • Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
  • Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
  • Required to be on-call 24-hours a day
  • May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
