Description

Mazak Corporation is looking for a Distributor Sales Manager to join the Southwest Sales team. The qualified individual will be responsible for managing and supporting all sales activities for distributor organizations as well as maintaining quota and market share objectives set forth by the Regional General Manager. This position reports to the Southeast General Manager and is based out of the Southwest Technology Center in Houston, TX.

Scope and Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  1. Oversee the sales process of machine tools to companies ranging from small job shops to large corporations in a distributor's territory.
  2. Communicate to the distributor their goals and performance for each sales period including quotas, market share, sales incentives, deliveries, expectations, and overall performance.
  3. Prepare and deliver presentations on the technical features, CNC control, and options pertaining to all Mazak machines.
  4. Provide Mazak with monthly forecasts, large project reports, sales reports, lost order reports, and market share analysis for your territory.
  5. Assist the distributor in negotiating the sale of machines related to price, delivery, terms, and conditions, and payment terms.
  6. Coordinate all pre-sale activities and information with engineering, applications, product group, and sales administration through the selling process.
  7. Review and approve all incoming orders from the distributor to ensure accuracy and profitability.
  8. Provide necessary post-sale technical support as required.
  9. Travel to and from customers as needed to conduct business.
  10. Attend local, regional, and national shows as required to assist in the promotion and sale of machines.
  11. Host customer visits at National or Regional Technology Centers, Mazak Factories, or Vendors, including international travel; valid passport is required.
  12. Participate in local association (SME, TMA, PMPA) networking events when applicable.
Education/Certification

Associates degree is required or 4 years of machine tool sales experience.

Skills
  • Experience with high precision machine tools and knowledge of the respective territory.
  • Strong computer skills, including preparing PowerPoint presentations and using Microsoft Office products such as Excel, Word, and Exchange.
  • Ability to prepare business communications and send emails as required.
  • Ability to read blueprint drawings, understand part geometry, and interpret part tolerances.
