Qualifications

• Valid Class B CDL.

• Experience with asphalt distributor or tack truck is preferred.
• Knowledge of roadway construction and asphalt paving operations is a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate an asphalt distributor truck on roadway and paving projects.
• Apply liquid asphalt materials, including tack coat, according to project specifications and instructions.
• Maintain proper application rates and uniform coverage.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and identify mechanical or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor distributor equipment, spray bars, pumps, and related systems.
• Coordinate with paving crews, supervisors, and field personnel to maintain production schedules.
• Follow all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and jobsite procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required vehicle inspection documentation.
• Keep assigned equipment clean and properly maintained.

Pay: $30.00 per hour

C.W. Matthews Contracting Company is seeking an experienced Asphalt Distributor Driver to join our team in the Savannah, GA area. This position plays an important role in our asphalt paving operations, safely operating an asphalt distributor truck to apply liquid asphalt materials on roadway construction projects.

We are looking for dependable, safety-conscious drivers who take pride in their work and understand the demands of an active construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate an asphalt distributor truck on roadway and paving projects.
• Apply liquid asphalt materials, including tack coat, according to project specifications and instructions.
• Maintain proper application rates and ensure consistent, uniform coverage.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and identify mechanical or maintenance concerns.
• Monitor distributor equipment, spray bars, pumps, and related systems to ensure proper operation.
• Coordinate with paving crews, supervisors, and other field personnel to maintain production schedules.
• Follow all DOT regulations, company safety policies, and jobsite procedures.
• Maintain accurate records and complete required vehicle inspection documentation.
• Keep assigned equipment clean and properly maintained.
• Perform additional duties as needed to support asphalt paving operations.
