Job summary

Smithfield Distribution, LLC is seeking a Wave Planner to allocate orders, release work to the warehouse floor, and balance workflow to meet customer needs. This role assigns and monitors wave times, prioritizes inbound and outbound loads, and ensures efficient trailer loading and yard placement.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with 2+ years in warehouse distribution, experience with WMS and SAP, and strong multitasking and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 2+ years in warehouse or distribution.
• Experience in a distribution center or warehouse environment handling customer orders preferred.
• Proficient with a Warehouse Management System, Microsoft Office, SAP and related office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assigns and monitors distribution including staging, wave times and pick assignments for teammates.
• Balance drop dead times versus product availability.
• Ensure proper order allocation by shipment ID or shipment line.
• Prepare trailer loading reports and organize/prioritize paperwork for loaders.
• Prioritize inbound loads and notify receivers if necessary.
• Receive completed paperwork for inbound/outbound loads and address discrepancies.
• Determine which doors or yard locations trailers should be positioned.
• Manage priorities of live loads and queue prioritization.
• Escalate any system problems and assist teammates with questions.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
