Job summary

The Morganton News Herald/Marion McDowell is seeking a Part‑Time Distribution Warehouse Worker (30‑35 hrs/week) to assist in the distribution of newspapers to customers and independent contract haulers.

Responsibilities include ensuring each hauler receives the correct single‑copy allotment, delivering down‑routes, collecting single‑copy racks, meeting delivery truck schedules, ensuring timely delivery to post offices and single‑copy locations, providing general assistance in the operation of

• Able to move around the warehouse indoors and outdoors.

Responsibilities

The Morganton News Herald/Marion McDowell is seeking a Part‑Time Distribution Warehouse Worker (30‑35 hrs/week) to assist in the distribution of newspapers to customers and independent contract haulers. Responsibilities include ensuring each hauler receives the correct single‑copy allotment, delivering down‑routes, collecting single‑copy racks, meeting delivery truck schedules, ensuring timely delivery to post offices and single‑copy locations, providing general assistance in the operation of the distribution center, and maintaining an orderly flow on the dock. Evening work and possibly some weekends are required. Receives mileage reimbursement when using your vehicle for work purposes.

Qualifications

• Shift starts 4:00 pm‑10:00 pm (Monday; Wednesday and Friday unless a change in delivery day) and 11:00 am‑5:00 pm (Tuesday and Thursday unless a change in delivery day/times).
• Ability to unload and stack bundles of newspapers (≈ 30 lbs).
• Ability to move around the warehouse, both inside and outside.
• Ability to follow company safety guidelines and policies.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• No previous experience required; training available.
• Reliable vehicle and proof of auto insurance.
• Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
