Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker in Shelby, OH is seeking an inventory technician to transfer stock into defined pick locations, pick mass retail orders, and maintain a safe, organized distribution area.

You will operate Walkie Rider, Stacker and Tugger, use an RF gun, perform 6S housekeeping, train teammates as needed, and ensure accurate packing and labeling for every order.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate or be trained to operate a Walkie Rider, Stacker, and Tugger.
• Ability to verify quality of product and use RF gun.
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds consistently and follow safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Standard Work including Safety Standards.
• Assist in stocking parts from PND locations and maintain shelf inventory.
• M ake inventory in active locations pick ready and pick mass retail orders.
• Perform 6S activities: stocking supplies, removing waste, and housekeeping.
• Inspect equipment (Walkie Rider/Stacker/Tugger) and track parts using RF gun.
• Cross train in all Distribution areas and assist other areas as needed.

Job description

Position Summary:

Responsible for accurately transferring inventory into defined pick locations throughout the facility, and also picking and processing mass retail orders

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Follows all Standard Work including Safety Standards
• Assists in maintaining healthy shelf inventory by stocking parts from the PND locations, ordering parts, minimizing held orders, and managing overstock.
• Makes the inventory in active locations as "pick ready" as possible
• Picking mass retail module orders
• Responsible for daily 6S activities, such as stocking picking supplies, removing waste and recyclables, housekeeping, and maintaining an organized and safe work area throughout the pick zones
• Safely maneuvers the facility when operating a Walkie Rider or Walkie Stacker
• Accurately picking/packing the correct quantity of parts/items needed per order and placing them in the correct container.
• Inspects Walkie Rider, Walkie Stacker, and Tugger vehicles according to checklist.
• Performs on the job training as needed.
• Correctly track parts using RF gun.
• Cross train in all Distribution areas/departments.
• Assist any areas within Distribution where the equipment may be required.
• Other duties as assigned

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to operate or be trained to operate a Walkie Rider, Stacker, and Tugger
• Ability to safely operate and maintain Walkie Rider, Stacker, and Tugger through daily inspections.
• Ability to verify quality of product.
• Ability to use an RF gun.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds consistently.
• Basic math skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization.
• Ability to work, contribute and succeed in a team environment.

Licenses or Certifications:

Will need to be Certified on the Walkie Rider & Stacker

Work Environment:

Must be able to work in a factory environment.
