XKIG is seeking a Distribution Underground Groundman in Whiteville, NC to join our field crew in building, repairing, and maintaining underground electrical distribution systems.

The role reports to the Foreman, is full-time and on-site, and requires a strong safety mindset, physical stamina, and ability to work in varying weather conditions. Health insurance, a 401K, and PTO are provided to support your long-term career.

Job Title: UG Groundman

Department:Operations

Reports To:Foreman

FLSA Status: Non- Exempt

PositionPurpose:

The Groundman position is your first step to a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation’s Power Grid. You willassistyour team in building, repairing, andmaintainingunderground electrical distribution systems.

KeyResponsibilities:

• Securing the safety of yourself and others
• Assistingfellow line-workers in meeting project objectives
• Readily joining storm restoration efforts in times of need
• Operating vehicles and equipment in a professional manner
• Continuing training to improve technical and leadership skills

Tasks:

• Works safely while performing new construction, maintenance, or repair work of energized and de-energized overhead work
• Properly inspectsrubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Maintains company vehicles, equipment, and tools in good working order
• Able to perform rigorous physical labor
• Capable of receiving and following directions
• Must be able to work outside,frequentlyin inclement weather
• Does all other related work asrequiredto complete the job

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depthperceptionand ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job,team-membersmayfrequentlybe exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanicalpartsand vibration.Team-membersare occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions atconstructionjob sites. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Powerline construction work is performed outside and is subject to diverse weather conditions.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record
• Able to read/write and communicate effectively.

• Willing to work overtime when requested.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Commercial Driver’s Licenseand the ability to obtain one within90 daysof hire
