Caterpillar Inc. in Lafayette, IN is seeking a Distribution Technician for 2nd shift to move material to the assembly line using stand-up or sit-down forklifts. Responsibilities include maintaining inventory accuracy and delivering material in FIFO order.

The Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for a Distribution Technician. In this role you will be responsible for material availability for Assembly consumption. The primary focus for the Distribution Technician will be moving material to the assembly line via stand-up, or sit-down fork truck.

Candidates must be able to read, write, and conduct business in English
Hourly pay range of $20.94-$26.69 plus 6% premium for off shifts. Higher rates offered based on experience.
Candidates must complete the full hiring process which includes but not limited to: Caterpillar Online Production Assessment (COPA), successful completion of Interview, background check, post offer medical questionnaire, and drug screen.
Candidates must successfully complete and pass Basic Assembly Training (BAT), which is completed as a part of the new-hire orientation and onboarding process.
Moving material to the assembly line via stand-up or sit down fork truck
Helping Stores Controller maintain inventory accuracy on production parts
Making sure material is delivered to point of use in FIFO order.
Must have at least 1 year of stand-up fork truck experience.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
Self-motivated, safety-conscious individual capable of working independently.
Basic computer skills.
Be flexible to work overtime as needed to support production demands.
Possess and show strong interpersonal skills and apply customer-based focus.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 40 lbs.
Must be able to bend and twist at the waist and be able to squat.
Consistent usage of required PPE for task being performed
Stand on concrete for 8+ hours.
Location of this position is in Lafayette, IN
Position available is on 2nd shift (2:30pm – 10:30pm)
