This job contributes to Starbucks success by supervising day-to-day distribution operations to support defined people, quality, cost, and service objectives. Models and acts in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Responsibilities
  • Model leadership behaviors that are grounded in Starbucks Mission and Values.
  • Drive the engagement, development, and performance of all members of their team.
  • Create and sustain a cohesive, positive, and clean work environment while ensuring compliance with established safety programs.
  • Work cross functionally to ensure effective and timely communication of company, plant and department information to managers, peers, and own work team, including supervisors, leads and partners. Support all established plant and distribution goals and objectives. Apprise manager of team progress while removing reported and known obstacles and barriers.
  • Timely and accurately complete and document time keeping for team members (e.g., time away from work, sick time) utilizing time keeping software.
  • Work closely and professionally with internal and external partners.
  • Facilitate change management in a high paced, evolving work environment that requires leaders to be nimble and versatile.
  • Maintain partner training in accordance with company and governmental safety rules and standards.
  • Monitor throughput, volume fluctuations and labor utilization to ensure smooth distribution operations. Ensure appropriate staffing to meet new business requirements and volume fluctuations.
  • Monitor volume forecasts, labor metrics, and shift progress to support customer needs and ensure each delivery is dispatched on time and in full.
  • Continuously improve safety, functionality and customer service levels provided to our customers using KAIZEN and LEAN methodologies and techniques.
  • Complete tasks thoroughly and accurately to ensure customer needs are being met in a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Demonstrate and understand safety as our core value and follow the key essentials to safety as set forth by our safety resolution; reinforce and coach others to do the same.
  • Understand and follow established safety guidelines, consistently comply with all safety procedures (e.g. PPE, Lock Out Tag Out).
  • Act as a safety change agent (e.g. CPR/First Aid certification; active engagement in safety committee, drive safety initiatives for department).
  • Support food safety, legality, and quality programs.
  • Maintain product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, Food Safety Preventative Controls, product specifications and quality procedures. Monitor and document quality measures using analytical tools.
  • Perform other duties as needed in support of business objectives and Starbucks Mission & Values.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Four-year College degree
  • Automated Distribution Environment (1 year)
  • Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards including Preventive Controls for Human Food (FDA Code of Federal Regulations) and the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). Experience with the GFSI certification schemes (i.e. BRC and/or SQF).
  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies, problem solving, and lean manufacturing.

For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
